About Us

Welcome to the Strathaven Striders web-site.  The Strathaven Striders is a friendly and  sociable running club based in Strathaven in  South Lanarkshire. Our members include  beginners about to attempt their first 10K  through to veteran Ultra Runners and Ironman  triathletes. Whatever your interest in running we  are sure that you will find others with similar  interests in the club. You are welcome to join us for some exercise, chat and fun. Simply come along to  one of our regular training sessions detailed below. Regular Training Sessions We train regularly during the week at the following times; 19.00 Monday Evenings: - 'Come and Run' session. Meet at Strathaven Pool. 19.00 Tuesday Evenings: Beginners and returners. Watch 'Newsflash' above for details of beginners courses. Meet at Strathaven Pool. 19.30 Wednesday Evenings: – Coached run session. All three club coaches will be present. Suitable for all abilities from beginners to seasoned runners. Each coach looks after a group of similar running ability. Meet at Strathaven Pool. 7pm  Thursday Evenings - Core Training Session, 45 mins, no running involved but taking part in this session will improve your running, focus on main muscle groups. Different sessions each week - runs every Thursday night throughout the year - new members welcome. Meet at Strathaven Pool. Members also organize training sessions on an ad hoc basis - these sessions include swimming and cycling as well as running.
